The loading rate is 12.000 tons per day for all type of vessels. Currently the maximum sailing draft is 14.40m for Panamax vessels but there is an area where maximum sailing draft could reach 20m but it is for Cape Sizes and at this time it is not operating.

CARBOSAN
Average loading rate is about 1.300 mt/hr. Carbosan is the operator for the coal berth at SPR Santa Marta where steam coal is loaded via conveyor belt system. Docks used for loading coal are 6 and 7. This terminal is for exclusive use of Glencore and CoalCorp. Sociedad Portuaria de Santa Marta is a multipurpose port in Santa Marta inside it is located Carbosan.
